I recently had an Email from Noel and have used excerpts from it of his report.

‘I recently prepared the following report for colleagues and parish council meetings.’
There has been a recent spate of sneak-in burglaries and suspicious incidents in Edenthorpe, Barnby Dun and Kirk Sandall. PCSOs were deployed to post leaflets in affected areas and conduct high vis patrols at relevant times. On Thursday 3rd July, PCSOs were nearby when 2 burglaries were reported in Barnby Dun. They quickly saw and followed a suspicious male. After a foot chase the area was contained and a male was detained. Since that time there has been a reduction in this type of crime to virtually nil. Residents are still being advised to be vigilant and secure their property.
More good news. A Kirk Sandall male is currently remanded in prison following his arrest for burglary/assault/breach of ASBO. Another male is on curfew while enquiries are being carried out. This is having a big positive effect in the village.
Even more good news! We are well into the summer now and I haven't had half the problems I was expecting regarding youths drinking etc other than some minor problems at Tescos and on the fields to the rear. At the Pavilion off Scott Crescent, we confiscated 55 cans and 20 bottles plus 2 x 3litre bottles of alcohol recently from under age drinkers. We will not not rest on our laurels though and will continue to deal positively where necessary.
I would encourage residents to report any information they have regarding under age drinking, nuisance motorbikes and any other community or anti-social matters and can assure you that it will be dealt with positively.
